The Art Institute of Chicago announced earlier this month that its admission fee would increase to $18 from $12 and for students and seniors $12 from $7, effective May 23. Alderman Ed Burke is in a battle with the Art Institute stating that the increase is not affordable for most of Chicago's residents. Mr. Burke is trying to pressure the Art Institute to increase its free admission hours pursuant to a city ordinance from 1891. You can read the article
